Of all the crafts that interest me, I guess I love knitting and patchwork equally. My photo collage suggests that I am at my craft table 24/7, but I don't do nearly as much sewing and stitching as I would like. These days I like to make my own blouses and pretty things for all my girls, big and little. Mum enjoys the gifts I make for her (and Dad too). MIL was a recent recipient of a table topper that surrounded her cake for her 90th birthday, and a flannel rug was quickly patched for grandbaby number nine last June.
Knitting, crochet and stitching (probably what we called fancywork when we were girls) are so portable. I tend to choose one of those to keep me busy at night... but what did I say? We are still girls. Nothing has changed.
I love to dress dolls. It's something that I loved to do as a child and the passion has stayed with me. I remember knitting a doll's bonnet to enter in a small local show when I was seven. I came second and Mum was mortified because in her eyes, my dolly's bonnet was definitely the best. In my next blog, I will tell you about the Inspired Stitches workshop I participated in recently. The friendships gained and the fun had with like-minded stitchers are really inspiring.
Your work is beautiful !!
Can't wait to see what you will show of Inspired Stitches !!
