There is a certain charm about fabric patterns from the 1930's. The colours can vary from very lights to very brights, but my preference is for brighter in the case of this project. From the first moment I saw Aunt Grace, I was smitten. I love this design and the colours remind me of my own dear aunts who were all stitchers, knitters and crocheters in varying degrees. This is the backing for my own Aunt Grace's Garden Party quilt...so pretty.
The quilt is made up of blocks that are as wide as the quilt is, minus the border. I have completed them all...a lovely mix of piecing, applique and patchwork.
It reminds me of the zinnias in my own garden. Vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds on a background of emerald leaves, looking up at me all through the summer.
As I snuggle into my Aunt Grace quilt this winter, I will be reminded of their summer faces.
So pretty !! I love your blocks !
